Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia bone marrow transplant

I have a close friend who has CLL. He has had it for 5 years. Been
treated with chemotherapy-by tablets.
He is now in hospital with aneamia and problems with red cells popping.

When he was initially diagnosed he was told that CLL was not
appropriate for bone marrow transplant, but someone mentioned it to him
the other day.

Is anyone able to enlighten us re if this procedure is done/success and
factors in the decision to go ahead.
