You miss an important point here. The inventors of the first car
invented something new and therefore had a chance to create a new name
for it as well.
All you did was to create just another diet. You may insist on calling
it anything else, but this won't change the fact that it remains a diet
according to conventional usage of language.
Btw., the idea to lose weight by reducing the amount of what one eats is
hardly new. In Germany it is colloquially known as "FdH" (Friß die
Hälfte = Eat only the half). The common opinion among nutritionists and
medical doctors is that this is no good unless you also change _what_
you eat.
The only thing that is new to your diet is the bizzare notion that the
right amount to eat is 2 lbs for just about everyone, regardless of
whether they are 5 feet inactive females or 7 feet active males,
regardless of whether they prefer sweets and french fries or vegetables
and fruits.

Oh, sure you have. The point is that definitions adhere no matter what
wacky nomenclature you try to hang on a simple and simplistic diet.
It's that old "A rose is a rose is a rose..." thing. And it would smell
as sweet by any other name.
Like a diet is a diet even when you try to give it a high-falutin
"approach" title. Still a diet. Diets are about what you eat and how
much and lotsa other criteria. Just like the 2PD.
