TIME: You're rolling out a line of South Beach Diet products this
spring.
R.D.: What appealed to us is that it's not a low-carb diet, although
many associate it with low carb. It's a balanced diet of the right
carbs, the right fats and lean sources of protein. I started in
December and lost 12 lbs. in two months.

Huh? Talk about being in denial. You cannot possibly spin south beach
to not be low-carb. It is virtually identical to atkins in terms of the
amounts of fats, proteins and carbs. The main difference being the
kinds of fats. South Beach trumpets non-animal fats.
OTOH, he is actually admitting that a confirmed low-carb diet, the
south beach diet, is, in fact, a healthy and balanced diet. And he also
confirms that it works. He's lost 12 lbs. in two months.
These guys, who make a living sellings billions of dollars of refined
carb crap, sure are entertaining to watch as they try to rationalize
their place in the food world.
