There are a number of possible causes including Diabetes.
See your Doctor.
Good luck.

Good advice. The two big causes are HIV and TB, but it would be presumptuous to
leave the list at that. There's other less scary causes. In any case, it
warrants getting an appointment for a physical. Be sure to mention your
concerns specifically. Your doctor isn't a veterinarian and shouldn't have to
guess about your complaints.
Do you have sleep apnea?

There's also some more scary causes.
If it's only started lately (and the heating isn't turned up too high!),
then see a doctor, as others have advised.
Before you go, think carefully if anything else has changed:
Breathing issues, tiredness, lethargy, chnage in sleep pattern?
Bowel habits, frequency, stool color, blood loss, urine color?
Weight loss, weight gain?
Swollen glands, stiff neck, back pain, sciatica?
Any other aches, pains, itchiness, changes in medication?
To name but a few: Has Anything Changed?

I have had stomach bloating for 3 years with constipation. Also some
weight loss but I have been dieting.
I actually went to the doctor and thye were afraid of lymphoma which
scared me.
Had a gallium scan that showed a "hot spot" next to my diaghapfram on
my left lung side. Had a follow up ct scan of the chest which was
normal.. No other "hot spots"
O have had fevers off and on for awhile.
C reactive protein has been high once but normal the last two times.
Sed rate normal. CBC normal with exception of slightly low lympocyte
percentage.
Doctor wants me to take my temperature for a month and come back. I
dont know what she will do then.
I have really noticed the night sweats the last month. They are never
"drenching". As soon as I wake up they disappear.
Dont think I have tb as I dont have a cough.
No swollen glands I know of. About two years ago Ihad one under my arm.
They took blood and it was normal. It went away after about a week.
I was on a small dose of prozac for about a few months. I stopped it
about 3 weeks ago.
Any ideas?
Tested for epv, cytelomegalo virus, rocky mountain spotted fever, hiv,
etc. ALl was normal. |

How is the current state of "night sweats" different than your previous
state? Do you wear night clothes made of synthetic fabric? Got a
plastic cover on your mattress (under sheet/mattress pad) that inhibits
absorption? Simple things can cause change, and "night sweat" is a
fuzzy topic, but, it they are not "drenching" to what extent are they
different than your "normal"????? |

I guess now I am more aware of them after the doctor brough up lymphoma
and I read that was a symtom. I wake up at odd ours of the night when
,my wife gets up with our infant and I can tell weather I am sweating
or not.
It usually honly happens around 1:00 a.m. or after.
I had a fan pointing directly at me last night and it caused me not to
sweat in the upper bpdy but my legs under the covers brokle out in a
sweat. It is funny though, as soon as I wake up the sweat disappers. |

It is normal to perspire more at night, and has to do with lower blood
pressure during deep sleep. Difficult to recall much physiology.
Synthetic fabrics, in night clothes or bedding, can make moisture trap
and not transport through the fabric so it makes you wetter. Skin on
skin also keeps you from drying out ) A new baby? Heck - you haven't
mentioned that before. |
