Detecting operatives for special interests in the NG
|
|
|
Random idiocy of course clouds the water but not entirely.
Here is an analogy from a nutrition news group
Post about how good meat is for you: Vegans will post in
opposition.
Post about how vegitables are the way to go: The meat people
will post in oposition, and the meat lobby will hire vicious
idiots to try and obliterate you,
Post about the severe problems and corruption in Pharma and
notice who responds and how they respond for example... this
reached its peak on the NG with CodeX legislation pending,
then died off almost entirely after CodeX passed in the EU
(making therapeutic doses of some vitamins by prescription
only... a foot in the door for the rest to come.)
Viciousness tends to mark the special interests..but not
always... its a clue though, added with other clues and you
can devine who is an op and which vested interest it is
from....and who is just a random idiot.
ARS is a mix.
Often these days the ops come into the NG with all sweetness
and agreeability... eventually though, these have to attack
if their objective is to be reached....
vicious attack becomes a pretty good indicator .
Attack by itself is close, but not conclusive. by long shot
Persistence along any of these lines... the beneficent/
intelligent/ or vicious attack.... defines who is who in the
cluster phuck..... thats true here or on any other NG, or
in any other setting.

Yes Phil, it does seem that this newsgroup is filled with industry
shills and spokespeople for various interests. My posts have been
attacked in ludicrous ways in the past, more than once for obvious
"typo" errors in very long posts. I've talked about the techniques
they use. For example, I recommened books to people, and I even say
things like, "overall, it is fairly good," but then the shills attack
me, finding something in the book that may indeed be incorrect, and
which I don't endorse (such as the "essential fatty acid" claim, which
one finds in just about every book on nutrition, despite it being
refuted directly in 1948). They can't be so stupid as to think that
any book about nutrition will be perfect in every way, yet the hope
that they can cast doubt - the last hope of the desperate shill, I
suppose.
It is the "cost of doing business" here. But a few months ago I
started my own web site and newsgroup, which contains my essays and
also message boards. I can delete any personal attacks, obscentities,
absurd remarks, etc. My site is meant to focus on the scientific
evidence, methodology, and interpretation.

The biggest bunch of B/S that I have ever heard is that lobbying groups
are paying people money to post on these ngs.
Ha, ... Hah, Ha!
Tell me another funny one.

Mental illness comes to my mine. These types of people have ONLY ONE
PET issue. That fact makes them a Food Faddist.

John Gohde,
Achieving good Nutrition is an Art, NOT a Science!
The nutrition of eating a healthy diet is a biological factor of the
mind-body connection. Now, weighing in at 18 web pages, the
Nutrition of a Healthy Diet is with more documentation and
sharper terminology than ever before.

Well, Phil, it looks like the shills got to work quickly, giving you
one star for pointing out something that all readers of this newsgroup
should know. I guess you should wear that one star as a sort of "badge
of honor" in this context. |

I do NOT have any pet issues.
One day it is whole grains, the next day it could be Pilates, then
olive oil, then John Harvey Kellogg, then the Mediterranean diet, Food
Faddism, or how about a treatment plan for hypothyroidism, Florence
Nightingale, the Mind-Body Effect, Mind-Body Exercise, and last but not
least how to change your diet.
I am not a one shot wonder, like Monty.
Just thought that you might want to know that my site covers hundreds
of more topics.

Somebody offered me $450 last week to advertise on my site. So, why
don't you tell me who, Mr. Nobody with no site.
Ha, ... Hah, Ha!
You have my condolences. |

Please all, do not feed the nature boy troll - he is the worst example
of it that I have ever encountered, but he is actually rather funny.
Laugh at him, if you wish, but try not to encourage him. |

You are full of crap. That is what I think.
Just thought that you might want to know that I am laughing at anybody
who honest to God thinks that their postings on these idiot ngs are so
valuable that lobbyists are actually paying people money to post here.
What a load of crap. And, I do NOT mind saying so. :)
