Range of Dental Diagnosis
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, I am currently a 2nd year dental student and was very curious if
any of you could give me an idea of your range for diagnosing different
diseases in your patients. I was very interested in how many cases of
such things as bulimia, cancerous skin lesions, AIDS, cardiovascular
disease, etc. you come across in your patients and whether or not you
take it upon yourselves to diagnosis and/or refer to a specialist. It
is becoming increasingly apparent to me how much dentists are exposed
to a patient's overall health and was wondering what roles you
personally take in analyzing one's health further from their teeth and
periodontum. I appreciate any experience or information you may have-
Thanks!
