Generic Zocor availability?

Hi gang,
My health insurance has a $500 drug deductible in addition to the overall
annual $5000 deductible and I'm still under the $500 so pay pretty much full
price for my prescriptions.
I currently take 10 mg of Lipitor but have a prescription ready to switch
to 20 mg Zocor or generic whenever I want. My state's Blue Cross, my
insurer, is trying to get folks to switch from Lipitor to generic Zocor but
for me, it's still not advantageou$.
A 3-mo supply of Lipitor is just over $200 while brand name Zocor is just
under $400 per 90 tablets. Even the generic Zocor is $280 or so (as of late
last week) making Lipitor cheaper for me still.
The questions are: Is there currently just one generic available? Are
other generic equivalents due in the pharmacies soon? At what point in time
can we expect the steep price reduction for Zocor or generics that's been
widely touted in the News to hit the shelves?
Thanks.
