For the last few days I have been feeling uneasiness . Even if i worked
little I used to feel very hot . I started losing my temper for no
reason in tthe office as well at home . My wife sensed that something
was wrong with me . She suggested me to consult the doctor . I went
to the doctor and was diagnosed as having high blood pressure . He told
me to lead a regulated life and exercise regularly .
I am following the doctor's advice , but i want to know that is there
some better medicines which could control my blood pressure ?

I have heard of Accupril . It helps to control blod pressure . you can
consult your doctor about this medicine . but i think your doctor has
given you the best advice. Why to go for medicine when you can keep
control over your B.P by maintaining balanced diet and regular exercise
..?

It was not a diagnosis of high blood pressure. It was noted that your blood
pressure was high and that exercise and weight loss if appropriate might
lower that to normal acceptable range.
High blood pressure must remain high always and not go up and down in order
to have a diagnosis of high blood pressure.
Don't worry if you want medicine as if you can't succeed then medicines will
be prescribed and you will be happy for the rest of your life in taking
blood pressure meds that have a large variety of side effects such as
impotence, swollen feet, depression, feeling cool, exercise intolerance and
others.
It is better to avoid meds and only take them when everything else has
failed and you still have high blood pressure.

Lovison my father who is high b.p patient is taking accupril for some
time .It has proved to be effective for him .the doctor prescribed this
drug to him . As I have never heard of this drug I surfed the net to
get info about it . this drug belongs to the family of Ace inhibitors
..Accupril also enhances blood flow throughout your blood vessels. This
drug is also prescribed for the treatment of the congestive heart
failure .I went through the following sites:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/medmaster/a692026.html
http://www.topix.net/drug/accupril
http://www.drugdelivery.ca/s38-s-ACCUPRIL.aspx
http://www.healthsquare.com/newrx/acc1002.htm
As my father is taking it for some days i havenot noticed much side
effects in him . Initially he had little bit problem of headache and
nausea but now he is fine .

Would suggest you seek a second opinion regarding what is causing your
behavioral changes.

Will be available to "glow" and chat about this and other things like
cardiology, diabetes, Bird Flu, the 2006 global earthquake advisory for
03/29/06, cooking and nutrition that interest those following this
thread here during the next on-line chat (03/23/06) from 6 to 7 pm EST:

You might benefit by joining the Yahoo Group bloodpressureline. You
can ask questions and get good advice there. Be prepared to tell Dr.
Grim who moderates the line what your blood pressure reading is. It
seems to me that your doctor did not help you. Did he tell you about
the DASH diet to cut back on salt in your food? Thats the first thing
Dr. Grim advises. Various medications are discussed. Perhaps you
should find a doctor that specialized in blood pressure issues.
