Elevated IGA

Dear all,
Following nearly 2 years of unidentified constant fatigue (to the point of
exhaustion and fainting) accompanied by anxiety, weight loss, insomnia,
diarrohea etc... and various inconclusive blood tests, I switched to a new
doctor last week who ordered more blood tests.
To cut a long story short - the hospital called me this morning to arrange
an appointment later this week having found elevated IGA antobodies in the
blood test. I'll obviously learn more when we meet but I just wondered what
this is likely to mean? From researching on the internet - this seems to
point to Celiac disease but I can't find anything conclusive. Does anybody
know if this is definitive or if there are any other likely causes? Just
wanted to be more knowledgable prior to my appointment.
Many thanks,
Rob |
