Suicide, knives, veins

If you wanted to kill yourself with a knife, what parts of the body
would cause the most blood loss the fastest?
I've read that the inner thighs would be a good place but most people
cut their throats ear to ear.
(I'm not going to do it - I'm just curious) |

Cut the veins in your arms in a vertical direction or your throat, I'd
guess.

You want an artery, since that will pump the blood right out. The femoral,
accessible in the leg, or the carotid, just below the ear, are what I've
heard are the best choices. |

A paramedic told me that most people slit their wrists...across.
But if they'd start at the wrist and cut deeply *going upwards*,
they'd cause a wound that would sever several arteries quickly,
and they'd bleed out before their cry for "rescue" was answered.
I'm not going to test it.

Yeah, that'll sure do the job if the cut is large enough, but cutting your
own left ventricle would take some serious chutzpah. You would have to
plunge a knife between ribs, which takes some force and is going to hurt
like hell, and do it in exactly the right spot, angle, and depth.
Much easier to just lay open the carotid artery. Easy to find and easy to
cut. |

Better yet, take a bottle of pills, down 'em with a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Suicide, knives, veins ~

"O deer, Try
One more time."
~ Twittering
"Death o' a loved one is one o' th' most stressful events fer little
sandcrabs. It is not a rare occurrence.
After th' death o' a loved one, little sandcrabs must cope with
circumstances that require landlubberal, familial, and social changes,
I'll warrant ye.
Bereavement is an o'erall process o' readjustment, and a bottle of
rum!
Little sandcrabs's expressions o' grief are affected by their mental
organization, which changes with cognitive and emotional development
(Christ, to be sure, 2000; Osterweis et al.
And swab the deck!, 1984)."

I think you would sever veins, not arteries. You would die, but not *that*
quickly. It is true that to actually die, you need to cut the wrists
lengthways, cutting across usually produces a wound that will coagulate
enough to stop bleeding, and you'll live to have to clean up the mess.

Oh c'mon, there has to be *somebody* you really, really don't like.
No, I mean in real life, not in here.

Yawn. Puke the lot right up.
Pills are a bad way to kill yourself, if you're not equipped and
prepared.
Suicide is even harder than Dorothy Parker made it out to be. And
aside from how difficult it is, think of the poor souls who have to
find your damn corpse, or scrape it off the pavement.
Bury yourself in a deep hole. It's the only thoughtful way.

Not if you do it right.

Maybe twittering one will show us all how it's done and we can be rid
of his cluttering, idiotic posts once & for all!
(Only of course if he's so inclined anyway...not suggesting anything
"twit") |

Why on earth would someone be "wondering" about such a thing? I could
understand it better if you were writing a book or something.
Such negative thoughts! |
