Giving Insulin in a dose sufficient to cause the patient to convulse. This
was a treatment for depression (I believe) in the 1950s, but I don't know
if it is anymore or not.

Thanks. Do you know, when it was used, was it used in the States or the
UK?

We used it in St. Louis, MO when I was a student nurse in 1952, and later in
OK when I was a Psych. head nurse. I cannot vouch for its having any
benefit however.
Thank God for the chemical help which is available now.

We were also experimenting with something called Photo Shock, which never
got anywhere, to my knowledge.
