We were also experimenting with something called Photo Shock, which never
got anywhere, to my knowledge.

I don't know who you are Sir, or where you come from,
but you've done me a power of good.

Insulin coma treatment was introduced in UK (and I believe in USA)
psychiatric hospitals in the 1930s and was phased out in the 1950s.

Google found these amongst 5,000+ other results:

We used it in St. Louis, MO when I was a student nurse in 1952, and later in
OK when I was a Psych. head nurse. I cannot vouch for its having any
benefit however.
Thank God for the chemical help which is available now.

This

if it is anymore or not.

Thanks. Do you know, when it was used, was it used in the States or the
UK?
