I have AF and cannot tolerate Digoxin and seem unable to benefit from
Beta Blockers too.

I am currently on 20 mg of Frusemide in the morning ( any more and my
heart beat is even faster.

My husband has a two chamber pacemaker, but I thought it was only for a
slow heart rate.

My heart rate is up to 155 beats per minute, but at night I have
episodes of bracycardia "with one pause of 2.36 seconds" ..according to
a letter from the cariologist to my GP.

As I cannot tolerate Digoxin, is there a type of pacemaker that deals
with both Afib and Bradycardia?

As my cardio. is going away and cannot see me I thought someone here
mught know if there is such a pacemaker.

Sorry for my ignorance!!

Ann

In general pacemakers do not serve to lower heart rates. There are
other medications besides digoxin and beta blockers that can serve to
slow down a fast heart rate from Afib. There is also AV nodal ablation
if all else fails.

No need to apologize, Ann.
