Have you ever prescribed three different blood pressure
medications for one patient?

It is dangerous for a patient to take three separate blood
pressure medications?

I know from past conversations with her that she will not
follow a diet plan or exercise plan since she does not
understand the reasons why diet and exercise are important.

Have you ever had such patients? What do you do to treat
such patients?

Would suggest you consult with a cardiologist who actually has hospital
admitting privileges and a patient base. Chung's too obsessed with
Usenet proselytization to give reasonable medical advice anymore.

Yes.

Uncontrolled hypertension would be potentially more dangerous.

Like the 2 pound scientifically unproven diet that he constantly pushes?

Or his advice to fast for 40 days to become "cut"??? Or the
recommendations by someone who no hospital will grant admitting
priviledges to? Or like the constant off-topic newsgroup spammer who
occasionally answers medical questions in one or two words?

If you, or anyone, get your medical advice from a discredited physician
on an internet newsgroup, you're in BIG trouble. See your doctor!

Like the 2 pound scientifically unproven diet that he constantly pushes?

If a person limits him/herself to 2 pounds of food daily, (other than the
trivial case of eating 2lbs of ice cream, candy, etc.), a person will
typically lose weight, particularly an obese person who does not have an
underlying medical condition driving the obesity.

The fact is that Chung's advice is sound, and it is valuable because it is
easier to simply weigh portions than to worry about the caloric content of a
particular portion of food (if a serving is 200 calories, did I measure out
a serving correctly, do I have a "little over" and if so, what is the actual
caloric content?), etc.

Quote:
Or his advice to fast for 40 days to become "cut"???

I know people who have fasted (other than water and an occasional piece of
bread and a fruit) for 40 days, and who have become "cut." However, they
promptly lost their "physique" when going back to normal food intake. The
moral being that as with any diet (including the 2lb diet), it is best to 1)
not go to extremes and 2) to exercise concurrently with the diet.
BTW, that part about "extremes" does not include limiting the daily intake
of food to 2 lbs (of balance, logical food).

Quote:
Or the recommendations by someone who no hospital will grant admitting
priviledges to?

I wish I had a dollar for everyone that I know who took a principled stand
on a given issue, ran afoul of "the powers that be", and ended up in a world
of hurt because of it.

Quote:

Chung at least puts some on-topic content in his posts. You, on the other
hand, do not. You're just posting to see your name on the screen. You
otherwise, you have no real message to convey at all.
Quote:

LOL. Try thinking, a bit. Who in their right mind takes medical advice
from *any doctor*, or from any person that they don't know, via a Usenet
group? (For that matter, who in their right mind takes *any* advice on any
topic from a stranger posting to Usenet??) Chung's posts contain answers to
questions, which answers are a form of medical advice. Such advice should
never be followed blindly; it should be a starting point for further inquiry
on one's own or to the medical personnel that one has access to.

I've vetted Chung's cardiology related answers a couple of times with the
cardiology practices that I use (yes, that's practices, plural), and he has
passed with flying colors. I've personally vetted his advice on a number of
issues by doing additional research (including the concept of the 2lb diet),
and I've not found a single instance of the advice being wrong, outrageously
or otherwise. At worst, I've found some instances of the advice being
controversial.
