The H5N1 Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) Virus has mutated in Indonesia.

This is on-topic for cardiology, medicine, and diabetes (CAD risk
equivalent) because folks with cardiovascular disease tend to have a
cardiovascular event (heart attack or stroke) **before** exhibiting any
symptoms of the Flu.
This is the rationale for annual Flu shots for folks with
cardiovascular disease.
The only thing that comes close to a Flu shot and is effective against
the Bird Flu is Tamiflu (oseltamivir) prophylaxis (i.e. taken
**before** Bird Flu symptoms start).

occurred among seven relatives infected with the H5N1 virus in a remote
farming village on Sumatra island. An eighth family member who was
buried before specimens could be taken is believed to have been
infected by poultry, a WHO report said.
Despite the virus' slight mutation in the father and son, Uyeki
insisted that an analysis suggested there was "nothing remarkable about
these viruses." |

Numerous Google accounts too as he has socked up several times using
different email addresses to register. That phony fortune teller Min
does the same, so do Edmo and Kaz00.
Always the sign of a k00k. So is his poasting timetable, spewing his

Actually, it is a big deal for two reasons:
(1) The report came from a closed meeting because someone from the AP
somehow got a hold of a copy. Prior to this, the WHO was reporting
that there were absolutely no new mutations involved in the large
Indonesia cluster. This is an issue of public trust.
(2) Any new mutation associated with increased human-to-human
transmission is a big deal.

A virus with an 88% kill rate and 100% contangious in a family
isn't remarkable???

That is not clear. Initial reports have stated that but there has been
no mention of this by the AP in the latest stories about the mutation.
