Purpose of baking soda in homemade electrolyte replacement formula?
|
|
|
Hello,
I have seen a number of homemade electrolyte replacement formulas (mainly
NaCl and KCl, some with a little sugar), and they all include a small amound
of baking soda.
What purpose does the bicarbonate serve in an electrolyte replacement
formula?
Thanks,

Thanks, Outsor, but why this form since there is already Na from NaCl in the
mix? In other words, what specific property of baking soda is useful for
the application?

Not seeing the other contents and if not for sodium, then a guess it is
combined with an acid to make it "fizzy". |
