I purchased a blood pressure monitor and check my BP almost every
morning. I have learned that I am salt senitive since normal amounts
of salt cause my blood pressure to rise to above normal limits. Salt
also causes me to have edema. One of my doctors referred to it as
postural hypotension. I have done some research on edema and found
out that people that have various types of kidney diseases have
postural hypotension and are senitive to salt. They also have
salt retention problems. I also have salt retention problems since
my serum sodium levels are near the high side of normal despite
a low salt diet.

Are there any other diseases (other than various types of kidney
disease) that cause:
salt retention
postural hypotension
high blood pressue related to normal amounts of salt. My blood pressure
remains within normal limits as long as I consume a low salt diet.

My creatinine levels are within normal limits (1.1 MG/DL). I should
note that my creatinine level was 1.7 while I was taking statins.

Thanks in advance,
Jason
