premature ventricular contractions

Dear Friends,
I have seen lots of articles in here on this, but I guess I still need
reassurance and this is why I am posting.
I am a 27 year old male that has alwatys been in good shape, but who is
just coming out of a serious ordeal with Anxiety. It all started about
6 months ago and there were several epesodies of panic attacks. I
started to get chest pains and went to a cardioologist were we did an
echo, cat scan, stress test, and holter monitor. All came back good
and I finally was able to get an explaintation for the skipped beats
and choking senstation I was feeling in my throat. He said it was PVC's
and nothing to worry about. He did however put me on Toporol XL becuase
my anxiety was keeping my resting heart rate near 100 becuase I could
not calm down. Now it is ~65 where it needs to be and my anxiety is so
much better.
During this period I found out a I had high cholestoral, herditary, and
was able to get it down to 165total with diet. I now run 4 miles 4
times a week and eat healthy, but I cant seem to shake the PVCs. They
come sometimes daily, and the more I think about them, the harder it is
to not think about them, which seems to make them occur more often.
Did my anxiety bring this on and will i ever be able to get rid of
them? Or should I go back to the cardio and tell him I am getting the
PVCs.
Thanks,
-SJ |

There are ways to reduce the frequency of PVCs. One way is to avoid
foods and OTC products that contain stimulants.

It would be wise for you to inform your cardiologist that you are still
bothered by the PVCs.
You are welcome.
All thanks and praises belong to GOD, Whom I love with all my being.
Prayerfully in Christ's amazing love,
Andrew
