[Overbite] Probably a Stupid Question
|
|
|
I'm 22 and I have a slight overbite, and my teeth aren't perfectly lined up
either.
I'll probably get the teeth fixed, but my question is about the overbite.
Is the only realistic course of treatment for this, for the lower jaw to be
brought forwards to meet up with the upper one? I take it that it's not
really possible for the upper jaw to be moved back instead -- right? |

Hi, I thought I might answer this as this is common for what i do.
first of all you need to visit your local orthodontist to determine the
situation.
xrays are taken to see the position of your lower and upper jaw to see
which one is at fault. it is usually the lower jaw. then things can be
done to fix the overbite, such as moving the teeth and or moving the
jaw.
hope this helps.

Okay. Just so as I'm clear: If the upper jaw is at fault, could the upper
jaw effectively be moved back at all?
Thanks! |
