Burgers get boot at Redskins' training table
It was an effective, if not sensible, diet: The Washington Redskins won
three Super Bowls while dining at a training table of double
cheeseburgers and fries.

I remember they got lobster for breakfast back in 1965. It was at
Fairleigh Dickenson University (if memory serves me right), in Carlisle,
PA. In fact, they got most anything they wanted for breakfast, as long
as it was loaded with cholesterol. :)

And they had the oldest linemen in the NFL. I doubt they had any serum
cholesterol problems, though.

The world was very different back then.

No, not at all.

Frankly, I have no idea at all about the longevity of NFL players.

But, in general, the more calories you burn in a day the more fat that
you can safely consume.

I would imagine that their training could be compared to boot camp for
Marines. Burn up 7,000 calories a day and you could safely eat lobster
for breakfast.
